LockDown Strengthens Advisory Board with Addition of Dr. Tim Holcomb

Columbus, Ohio, December 19, 2019 – LockDown, a disruptive company that is pioneering a new standard for identity, data control and digital ownership, recently announced the expansion of its advisory board with the addition of Dr. Tim Holcomb.

Tim is currently the Director of the John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship and Farmer School of Business Endres Associate Professor Fellow at Miami University. His expertise in growth strategies, business model innovation and venture capital will help position LockDown for its next phase of expansion.

“Under Tim’s leadership, Miami University’s Institute for Entrepreneurship has consistently ranked among the top programs in the country,” said A.J. Auld, CEO of LockDown. “I continue to be impressed by his relentless efforts to connect Miami alumni to facilitate collaboration, investment and partnership as well as his undeniable networking and relationship building skills. We very much look forward to the contributions and expertise he will bring to LockDown’s advisory board.”

“LockDown’s patented technological platform is impressive, and its value proposition is very compelling,” said Tim.

In addition, he cited another important reason for deciding to join LockDown’s advisory board—his respect for the company’s CEO, AJ Auld. “Starting, scaling, and managing a startup requires not only intellect and energy, but also the courage to face uncertainty head on, the vision and willingness to collaborate to bring unity and context to an idea, and the patience and determination to bring that idea to reality,” said Tim. “In my experience, these talents are often found in successful founders. I see these qualities evident in AJ’s leadership style and approach and in his ability to build a successful and effective leadership team.”

Tim has over 30 years of strategy, management and startup experience. Under his guidance, The John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship at Miami University was ranked 5th among public undergraduate colleges and universities in the 2020 Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine rankings. The Institute has been named in the top 10 for the last 12 consecutive years and is internationally recognized for its academic research and immersive, real-world learning opportunities in the areas of startup and venture capital, social entrepreneurship and impact investing, corporate innovation and technology commercialization, and creativity.

Previously Tim served as Executive Director of The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship at Florida State University, where he helped FSU raise $100M to establish the nation’s largest interdisciplinary entrepreneurship school. He spent 13 years at Accenture consulting with Fortune 100 companies. Tim was also was the founder and president of Telcom Global Solutions, a $30M firm with 250 employees which was acquired by Flex, a Fortune 500 company. He ran Flex’s Network Services division for two years, growing revenues to $800M with 8,000 employees.

Tim has received numerous career awards and honors, including the VentureOhio 2019 Catalyst of the Year award and has advised hundreds of startups/growth companies. In addition, he has helped companies raise over $70M in funding over the past 5 years. Tim has 85 refereed publications, and 53 refereed conference proceedings. His research interests include resource management and human capital theory, behavioral decision theory and judgmental decision-making, and venture formation, funding, and growth. Tim’s research appears in leading journals and has earned awards from the Academy of Management, the Strategic Management Society, the Kauffman Foundation, and Babson College.
